Treballo en un grup de recerca sobre informaci\u00f3 qu\u00e0ntica <\/b>a l\u2019ICFO, un centre d\u2019investigaci\u00f3 a Castelldefels, prop de Barcelona, per\u00f2 tenim molts col\u00b7laboradors arreu del m\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

A m\u00e9s d\u2019impulsar la recerca cient\u00edfica i tecnol\u00f2gica, crec que \u00e9s important fer con\u00e8ixer a la gent com els \u00faltims aven\u00e7os cient\u00edfics poden afectar les seves vides<\/b>.<\/p>\n

En 2016 vam coordinar un projecte internacional per realitzar un experiment de f\u00edsica qu\u00e0ntica amb la col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 ciutadana. M\u00e9s de 100.000 persones van participar en el Big Bell Test!<\/p>\n

Un dels meus canals preferits de YouTube \u00e9s aquell on una jove enginyera va explicant com funcionen objectes de la nostra vida quotidiana.<\/p>\n

Justament ahir va explicar que dins dels nostres m\u00f2bils hi ha un munt de transistors i altres elements fets amb semiconductors que s\u00f3n els elements b\u00e0sics de l’electr\u00f2nica digital<\/b>. Tot aix\u00f2 no es podria fer sense entendre les propietats qu\u00e0ntiques dels materials semiconductors que s\u00f3n a la base d\u2019aquests elements.<\/p>\n

S\u00f3c professora de f\u00edsica a un institut de secund\u00e0ria. Em preocupa la falta de coneixement de la gent sobre <\/b>l\u2019actualitat cient\u00edfica<\/b>. Refugiant-se en noms t\u00e8cnics i aprofitant-se de la desinformaci\u00f3 i la falta d\u2019esperit cr\u00edtic, cada cop hi ha m\u00e9s estafes pseudocient\u00edfiques que no fan m\u00e9s que treure diners a la gent. En alguns experiments, el resultat no ens permet distingir quina traject\u00f2ria va agafar la part\u00edcula: \u00e9s com si estigues viatjant als dos camins alhora<\/b>! Podem observar la interfer\u00e8ncia <\/b>dels dos camins.<\/p>\n

Estan emergent noves tecnologies qu\u00e0ntiques<\/b> que prometen revolucionar el m\u00f3n de la informaci\u00f3 i de la comunicaci\u00f3: per aprofitar al m\u00e0xim aquest potencial, la Uni\u00f3 Europea, est\u00e0 planejant la construcci\u00f3 d\u2019una infraestructura per a les comunicacions qu\u00e0ntiques<\/b>, que permetria connectar dispositius qu\u00e0ntics, arribant a formar una internet qu\u00e0ntica. Aquesta infraestructura aprofitar\u00e0 la xarxa de fibra \u00f2ptica actual per connexions de curta i mitja dist\u00e0ncia i hi combinar\u00e0 sat\u00e8l\u00b7lits per cobrir les dist\u00e0ncies m\u00e9s llargues. D’aquesta manera, gr\u00e0cies a la f\u00edsica qu\u00e0ntica, es protegiran les dades m\u00e9s sensibles com les personals, financeres, governamentals, aix\u00ed com la xarxa el\u00e8ctrica, el control aeri, o el sistema sanitari.<\/p>\n

La f\u00edsica qu\u00e0ntica ens ha perm\u00e8s entendre millor les propietats de molts materials, com els semiconductors, per\u00f2 n’hi ha que encara s’escapen de la nostra comprensi\u00f3 perqu\u00e8 els c\u00e0lculs que haur\u00edem de fer per entendre’ls s\u00f3n massa complexos, fins i tot pels ordinadors m\u00e9s potents.<\/p>\n

Mentre esperem l’arribada dels ordinadors qu\u00e0ntics, podem comen\u00e7ar a fer servir sistemes qu\u00e0ntics senzills que podem controlar de forma precisa en un laboratori, com per exemple un n\u00favol d’\u00e0toms freds, que es comporten com els sistemes m\u00e9s complexos que volem estudiar. Aquests s\u00f3n els simuladors qu\u00e0ntics<\/b>, que prometen ajudar-nos a entendre materials interessants per les seves aplicacions tecnol\u00f2giques com els superconductors.<\/p>\n

Imagina’t ser part de la comissi\u00f3 que ha de decidir com invertir la partida de diners destinada al desenvolupament de tecnologies qu\u00e0ntiques a nivell europeu pels pr\u00f2xims anys: sabent que les tecnologies qu\u00e0ntiques podrien beneficiar la societat en moltes maneres diferents<\/b>, quants recursos apostaries per desenvolupar-les?<\/p>\n

Aquesta no \u00e9s una decisi\u00f3 individual: cada grup ha d\u2019arribar a una conclusi\u00f3 un\u00e0nime discutint de manera correcta i racional basada en els fets que heu apr\u00e8s fins ara.
